As of 2026-02-28, Quicksand has not:

  • Received any National Security Letters or FISA court orders.
  • Received any gag orders or other secret court orders.
  • Been required to install any backdoors, monitoring capabilities, or data collection mechanisms in our infrastructure.
  • Had any search warrants executed on our servers, offices, or infrastructure.
  • Been compelled to produce user data or logs for any government agency or law enforcement body.
  • Modified our system to allow third-party access to user traffic.

What this means

A warrant canary is a transparency mechanism. If this page is removed, stops being updated, or any of the above statements are removed, it may indicate that we have received a legally binding order that prevents us from disclosing its existence.

Our architecture

Even if compelled, our zero-knowledge architecture means we have minimal data to provide. Ghost tier accounts store only: a random account ID, an expiry timestamp, and a WireGuard public key. We do not log traffic, DNS queries, connection timestamps, source IP addresses, or browsing history for any tier.

Update schedule

This canary is updated on the last day of each month. If no update appears within 35 days of the last update, assume the canary is dead.
